about me
Growing up in Sidmouth, Devon I was born with a love of the seaside, I spent many hours as a teenager sketching the beautiful cliffs and dramatic seascape of Sidmouth and surrounding areas. I was always particularly fascinated with fishing boats and this carries through to the work I do now.
When I was starting out I wanted to create an original eye-catching style that would stand out from the more traditional watercolours and oil paintings of coastal scenes. I began experimenting with mixed media, combining different materials such as newspapers, magazines and acrylics.
I am often to be found at my easel, surrounded by a mass of torn pages from recycled magazines and newspapers as I forage for the perfect material and colours to lay down the foundations of my paintings. Sometimes the perfect quote or article appears unexpectedly which all adds to the fun and spontaneity of my work.
In my 10+ year career as an artist I have built up a large portfolio of work and sell my original paintings and merchandise to many different retailers:
Blue Lias Gallery (Lyme Regis)
Otterton Mill Gallery (Otterton)
Grandpa's Gallery (Seaton)
Gladstone Picture Framing (Seaton)
Southwold Pier Gallery (Suffolk)
Secrets (Port Issac, Cornwall)
